In 1994 Cary was working for the Web Design Group in Chicago.  He started using online marketing techniques to generate new leads. He quickly saw that early adopters of websites got confused quickly so he developed a system to help break down the components and manage the cell cycle better. Within a very short period of time he was able to grow the company from only 8 employees to more than 150.

Since then, he has been in management for several prominent Internet companies including BBN , GTE/Genuity, AOL and WorldCom/UUNet.

Cary provides consulting services to hundreds of companies, large and small, on Internet strategy, eCommerce and online marketing. He counts Motorola, Chicago Tribune, Honeywell, Bank One, USG, Johnson Controls, Motorola, SBC Ameritech, Hewitt and ACNeilsen, as just a few of his past clients. As Cary began assisting more and more clients with their web site design and search engine ranking, he soon realized that the techniques to improve rankings were simple, but often misunderstood.

In 2004, Cary started his own company, eClick Performance, to promote the benefits of search engine marketing and to explore the avenues for increasing website traffic, leads, and sales. Today eClick has worked on more then 3,000 clients including Harris Bank, Dow Chemical, Fuji Film, Fairfield Suites, Chicago Children’s Museum, Magellan Development, and the Chicago chapter of the American Marketing Association. eClick is a full service Internet marketing agency, offering a wide range of services, including web design, shopping cart development, search engine optimization and paid placement management. Cary has served on the Interactive Marketing Advisory Board at Northern Illinois University. Cary has also co-founded two patents for one of his clients.
