WOW I finally did my “Century Ride”!

After riding road bikes for over 35 years. I finally got my 100 mile century ride in! I had done 75 miles, 65 miles and a few 50 miles but never did the full 100 until Saturday, July 9th. This has been my goal for a long time. With work, life and a bad knee keep getting in my way, I was very worried I would not reach my goal. Hitting this goal before my birthday was very important to me and very emotional, words just can’t describe the felling.

To me, this is a great turning point in my life to set a goal like this one and meet the goal.

I did not tell many people ahead of time so I did not have the pressure. But the people who know me best are so proud of what I have done and most importantly I am ready to face the rest of my life without fear or worry.

I want to thank all of the people who encourage me and knew I could do it, Thank you all!

Now… How many Century’s can I do before December 31st, 2011????

What does riding mean to me…

A good friend ask if riding long distances was meditative to me or do I think throughout the ride. This is a great question. For me it is both. Throughout my ride I tend to clear my head so I can think better. Then on some of the long straight away or climbing a hill I tend to clear my mind it tends to be much more meditative. A great ride has both.

If I’m solo then, I can’t think of a better place to be for mental and physical health then a long nice bike ride….

WOW GREAT RIDE

Thanks for all of the support and donations! This was an amazing event. I had so much fun with the Grupetto team riding this year. The weather was not too hot. Our team had 100 riders so we have plenty of camaraderie. The MS volunteers were wonderful, the rest stops were great! I hope to ride with Grupetto next year.
